When I lived in Jamaica, I could recall growing up watching a lot of Nigerian Movies. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was channel 58 and every weekend, my mom and I would bond over these movies. I fell in love with the culture, their attire and how they went all out especially when it was cause for celebration.
I don't think I ever watched a Nigerian film that did not have a wedding scene. The celebration was always bright, colourful and joyful. My favourite part of the weddings was when guests would throw money on the bride and groom while they danced. I later learned that this act was called spraying.
I wanted to dig deeper and learn more about Nigerian Weddings Traditions and so I interviewed my friend, Ayoola on this episode of Fi Di Kulcha.
